One year since our project in Bulgaria

One year ago BELTRUBOPROVODSTROY has completed works on a large project in expanding of the gas transportation network in Bulgaria. It’s time to remind about the construction, which we are righty proud of.

From July to September 2020 within the program “Expansion of the gas transportation infrastructure of Bulgartransgaz, running parallel to the northern pipeline to the Bulgarian-Serbian border”, the BELTRUBOPROVODSTROY team performed a set of works on the construction of closed crossings. They are the gas pipeline crossings with the diameter of 1219 mm across the Lom River (the length of 489 m by using Direct Pipe Technology) and the Yantra River (the length of 549.4 m by using directional drilling).

The project was marked to be complicated due to complex geological conditions and deposits of hard layers of stony and calcareous marl. So the methods of construction were chosen according to geology.

As a result, the work on the performing of the crossing over the Yantra River was carried out using the direct drilling equipment Prime Drilling PD-400. The total duration of the drilling was 26 days long, taking into account technological pauses.

The construction of the gas pipeline crossing over the Lom River using the Direct Pipe method was carried out with the microtunneling equipment AVN1000 and the pusher Herrenknecht HK-750PT. The total duration of drilling operations across the Lom River was 5 days long, taking into account technological pauses.

In addition, during the project there were also two crossings across the Lom and Yantra rivers for communication lines with a protective case Ø273 mm built by our teams.

Remembering the project, today we want to thank our partners for their trust, and our team – for their high professionalism in implementing of that significant action!
