Good news from the Far North facility
BELTRUBOPROVODSTROY teams continue to work on pipeline construction at the North Komsomolskoye field interfield gas and oil pipeline construction project in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.
Concurrently with the welding and installation work on the linear part of the facility, construction of a closed pipeline crossing under the communications has been implemented those days.
The drilling work in permafrost conditions was carried out with using the directional drilling technology, that had been earlier tested there in extremely low temperatures. By the efforts of an experienced drilling team of BELTRUBOPROVODSTROY JSC a 447 m long underground pipeline crossing with the diameter of 1200 mm has been performed successfully. The construction was performed using the Prime Drill PD-400 equipment and INROCK reamers (USA) with diameters ranging from 600 to 1400 mm.
The drilling operations were carried out in two shifts at the temperature conditions even below – 33° C. As a result, our colleagues successfully completed another crossing in this large-scale project, despite the critically low temperatures.
A photo report from the site shows the challenging working conditions of our colleagues.
